Rules for Using a Group Study Room
- Users of the library group study rooms must abide by the AUC’s Code of Conduct and the AUC Libraries Shared Space Guidelines.
- Users assume responsibility for the conduct of all group members and the condition of the room.
- Users should respect the space and leave the room clean (clean the whiteboard, return furniture to original location, dispose of garbage properly, remove books and library materials).
- Users should report any damage or major mess (like spills) you find in the room to the Help Desk (Plaza Level) as soon as you notice it. If damage or mess is discovered after your use, you may be held responsible.
- Users should keep the windows and doors clear and uncovered with paper or any materials that will prevent monitoring of activities in the group study room.
- Users should do not use electrical appliances in the group study rooms, like coffee makers, hot plates, etc.
- Food and beverages are not allowed, water is the only beverage permitted inside the library.
- Conversations should be held to a reasonable noise level. The rooms are not soundproof and excessive noise disturbs others studying in the area.
- Users are responsible for personal property. Do not leave items unattended. The Library is not liable for loss or damage to personal property.
- All users in the group must vacate the group study room at the end of the reservation period.
Failure to abide by Library policies may result in a loss of your room reservation and being banned from reserving any group study rooms for the entire semester.
