Lost/Stolen or Damaged ID Cards Policy & Procedures
  • The AUC Libraries' card is the official University ID, and should be carried at all times.
  • It is the property of the American University in Cairo Libraries, and the policies and procedures of the library and the University governs its use.
  • This card is NOT TRANSFERABLE; cardholders should not lend the ID to another individual for any purpose. The University libraries are not responsible for any loss or expenses resulting from the loss, theft, or misuse of this card.
  • A lost, stolen or damaged card must be reported to the AUC Library ID Unit within twenty-four hours of the detection of the card's loss or theft incident. Cardholders are, under the rules of the libraries, responsible for any transaction made on the card up to the time of notification of the loss or theft.

Procedures for lost/stolen or damaged ID cards

  • To get a replacement for a damaged ID card, cardholders must return the card to the ID unit.
  • To get a replacement for a lost or stolen ID card, the cardholder will be required to fill in a form updating all his/her personal information in the ID unit.  The form must then be submitted to the AUC Security Office.  The cardholder will also be required to present to the AUC Security Office a copy of their personal identification and a police report.
  • Replacement fees for lost, stolen and damaged ID cards:

    1st Replacement 100 L.E

    2nd Replacement 250 L.E

    3rd or more 250 L.E
