Mahmoud Saba Collection

Mahmoud SabaThe personal library of Mahmoud Mohamed Saba (1886-1976), a distinguished barrister, was acquired by AUC in 1988. Saba resided in Cairo but traveled extensively to assemble one of the largest private libraries in Egypt. On numerous trips throughout Europe, North America, and the Middle East, Saha gathered materials in Arabic, English, French, and German. The collection's more than 7,000 books deal mostly with Egypt and the Middle East during the eighteenth through twentieth centuries, and is particularly rich in books relating to art, history, literature, and travel.
