RefWorks FAQ
  • What is RefWorks?

RefWorks is a Web-based tool that makes creating accurate bibliographies fast and easy. With RefWorks, you create a personal account that allows you to import citations from databases and other resources. You can then use RefWorks to generate in-text citations and bibliographies in various citation styles for your papers, projects, and presentations.

RefWorks creates a database of all the citations that you enter, allowing you to organize your research from different projects in one central location. As RefWorks is Web-based there is no software to download, and you can access your personal account from any computer connected to the Internet.

  • How do I login to RefWorks?

Click on the link to RefWorks and then select Sign up for an Individual Account. Complete the brief RefWorks registration and select Register to create your account. If you have already registered, enter your RefWorks username and password to access your account.

  • When I try to login from off-campus I’m asked for a “group code”. What’s going on?

If you need the group code in order to create a RefWorks account from off-campus, use the following:RWAUC

Otherwise, coming in from off-campus via the following link will recognize you as an AUC student and allow you to create the account: Link to RefWorks
