- What is WebFeat?
WebFeat is a federated search tool that allows you to search multiple library databases simultaneously from one search interface. With one search, WebFeat can scan library databases for journal articles and newspaper stories as well as the library catalog for books on your topic.
- How do I access WebFeat?
To access WebFeat, click on the link from the main library Web site at http://library.aucegypt.edu or use the link below.
- How do I search WebFeat?
After you connect to WebFeat, begin your search by entering your search terms in the box(es) provided. Next, select a category of databases to search or scroll down and place a check next to the databases you wish to include in your search. Be sure to check the Include Library Catalog in Search in order to include books from the AUC Library in your search.
- What are the ‘Categories’?
The categories are pre-selected groups of databases organized by subject. Most of the major multidisciplinary databases are included in all of the subject categories due to their broad, and full text coverage. You can add or delete databases from the pre-selected category lists to find a selection that is right for you. For more information on each of the databases available, see the alphabetical list of databases
- Can I use WebFeat from off-campus?
Yes, WebFeat is available off-campus to authorized users via the proxy server. Just access WebFeat as normal and provide your full name and library barcode number when prompted to access the system. For more information about accessing all library tools from off-campus, see the Off Campus Access site
