Important Note: Due to the current COVID-19 public health emergency, the library has suspended registration for alumni until further notice

All AUC Alumni are eligible to apply for membership to the AUC Libraries. Apply in person at the circulation desk.

  • Bring your new-style Alumni card to be activated for Library use

  • Membership fee (currently EGP 80 for a one-year membership). Payment has to be made at the University Cashier in the administration building. Opening hours are Sunday to Thursday, from 9 am until 2 pm.

  • You may check out a number of books, according to the Library’s loan policy.

  • Access to the AUC Library facilities and collections

  • Access to reference librarians and research assistance

  • Use of document delivery and photocopy services (fee-based)

  • On-site access to AUC Library databases. Note that AUC alumni have limited access to electronic resources due to licensing restrictions: We regret that off-campus access is not available for alumni. However, alumni with Egyptian citizenship have access to a number of important databases and other electronic resources through the Egyptian Knowledge Bank. Registration is free and only requires a national ID number. Our librarians can assist you with the registration process.

  • In addition, the library website lists a range of open-access databases, which are freely accessible. On the list of databases by title, open-access resources are marked with a double asterisk (**).
